WE MOVED OUT OF THE 5TH WHEEL

We spent a little over a complete year full-timing in our 5th-wheel.
Dec. 25th 2020 - Jan. 5th 2022

We started in Florida and ended up in the hills of Tennessee by way of almost every state on the east coast just to make sure we found the right place to call our forever home.

Atlas crawled for the first time in this home. Evie had her first BIG haircut (totaling close to 18”) in this home.

Zach and I almost got divorced and found our way back to each other in this home.

We are not the same people we were when we moved into this. It’s easy to think who hasn’t changed in the past 2 years in some capacity, but for us it was more than what was going on in the world around us. It was a reckoning of 10 years worth of missing each other, conversations, arguments, loving on, parenting, re-parenting etc.

We grew up together and have been in a relationship for the past 14 years we really had to brake down everything we thought we knew about marriage, trust, commitment, intimacy, safety, etc.

We did not intend for the 5th wheel life to do this for our family, but I am SO thankful that it did (now that I’m on the other side of it). Going through it was absolute hell and filled with so many tears, and heartbreak, as well as immense laugher and joy. I’m thankful that we are learning, practicing tools, and finding each other daily now.

I’m so excited for this next chapter that we are in, and choosing to enjoy our journey, with a little extra leg room!

If you haven’t registered for my newsletter but want to keep up with our homestead updates, that is the best way to do so! We are navigating our way onto our land in ‘22 and I’ll be updating how my year of rest is unfolding as a care for the caregiver journey.
